The inaugural Penistone Film Festival took place on 18th & 19th October 2025

A two-day celebration of the origins of the motion picture industry. With silent cinema, live music, vintage glamour, theatrical performances, immersive actors, and visual storytelling � all hosted here at the historic Penistone Paramount theatre.

From Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd & Clara Bow to modern stunt demonstrations, contemporary organ concert, and TikTok viral reels, the 2025 was a festival that bridges the past and present � inviting a new generation to engage with art through film, music, comedy, stunts, and creativity.

The Penistone Film Festival 2026, takes place from Fri. 16 to Sun. 18 October�

Now in its second year, the Penistone Film Festival is returning to the Penistone Paramount and St. John the Baptist Church to bring you a three-day celebration of the world of film, including original films, silent masterpieces and cult classics, alongside unique events that everyone can get involved with.

Whether you are a film fanatic or interested in trying something new in a welcoming and inclusive environment, join us from Friday 16th October to Sunday 18th October for an unforgettable weekend of celebrating the beauty and creativity of cinema, including the genius of Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and contemporary filmmakers from around the world.
